My team, the Business Bevos, made it to nationals (top 10) for L’Oreal’s annual Brandstorm Case Competition. The prompt was to create the salon experience of the future. Inspired by my southeast asia travels (where many city attractions boasted being the highest blank in the city), our concept was a data driven Sky Salon. We proposed a smart system that understands the customer, and created personalized and meaningful client interactions. We also devised a smart color mixing system, that would help stylists decipher color and amount precision in color formula mixing – based on the client’s hair type/composition/history. The Sky concept was novel – bringing additional excitement into the salon experience. By literally featuring the city in the sky-scraper salons, the Sky Salons would be a global brand – each salon celebrating the culture at each location. Although our team did not make it to the international competition, I am extremely proud of what we came up with, especially while balancing our high course load/recruiting/extra-curricular activities.
